Honor 600 Series Lands in China with Massive 8,600mAh Batteries

Honor launched the Honor 600 and 600 Pro in China this week, flipping the typical release pattern where Chinese models usually debut first. Both phones arrive with significantly larger batteries than their global counterparts, addressing a key consumer demand for extended usage.

The Chinese variants pack 8,600 mAh and 8,000 mAh batteries respectively, compared to 7,000 mAh units in global models. However, the Chinese 600 Pro downgrades to a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite found internationally. The standard Honor 600 retains its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor across all markets.

Both versions share identical displays and charging capabilities: a 6.57-inch 120Hz OLED panel with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Camera setups remain unchanged, featuring 200MP main sensors with 12MP ultrawide lenses, plus telephoto cameras on Pro models. The phones start at CNY 3,699 for the base model.

This staggered launch strategy suggests Honor is testing different hardware configurations for specific markets, with battery capacity being the primary differentiator for Chinese consumers who prioritize longevity over peak performance.
