HMD has introduced the Luma, a budget-focused 4G smartphone that revives nostalgic connectivity options. The device combines modern photography with traditional ports while targeting emerging markets. Unlike its Lumia-sounding name suggests, the phone prioritizes practicality over cutting-edge specifications for cost-conscious consumers.

The Luma runs on the aging Unisoc T615 chipset with 4GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage plus microSD expansion. Its 6.67" LCD display offers 720p resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device comes with Android 15 and features a 50MP main camera, improving on its predecessor while maintaining entry-level positioning.

Connectivity options include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio receiver, and Bluetooth 5.0. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging through USB-C 2.0. Currently available in Titanium and Blue colors in Nigeria and Ghana, the Luma represents HMD's strategy of offering reliable devices with essential functions rather than premium performance.
