Google Removes Watermark from Gemini Images

Google now lets you remove the visible watermark from images generated by its Nano Banana image generator, a feature that has been a point of contention for users.

A new setting appears in Gemini and Flow, and will be available in Google Search’s AI Mode soon. The option isn’t limited to images; you can also remove watermarks from videos created with Gemini Roedd Omni and songs made with Lyria. The only exception is in countries where the law requires a watermark to remain.

Even though the visible watermark is optional, invisible Synth ID watermarks and C2PA metadata continue to be embedded. Gemini can still answer whether an image or other media was AI‑generated, ensuring traceability and compliance.
