Google Gmail Address Change Now Possible, But US Rollout First

Google is finally allowing users to change their primary Gmail address, a long-awaited feature. Currently, this Gmail address modification is rolling out exclusively to users in the United States. The company has provided a quick video guide to walk users through the process.

To change your email, navigate to Google Account settings, select 'Personal info', then 'Email', and finally 'Google Account email'. Look for the prominent blue button labeled 'Change Google Account email' and tap it to select a new address. Crucially, your original address will remain as an alternate, ensuring emails sent to the old address still reach you.

However, users face a significant limitation: you can only perform this change once every 12 months, so choose your new email carefully. This rollout is gradual, so if the option isn't visible yet (and you're in the US), checking back in a few days is advised.
