Android, iOS, Harmony OS Global Market Share Q2

Counterpoint Research (CR) released its Q2 2025 report on global smartphone shipments, revealing mobile operating system market shares. Globally, Android leads with a 75% share, up from 73% in Q1. iOS follows with 20%, down from 22% in Q1. Huawei's Harmony OS holds third place with a 5% share, matching its Q1 performance.

In the US, iOS leads with 51%, while Android holds 49%. iOS previously peaked at 69% in Q4 2025. In China, Android remains first with 58% (down from 63%), but Harmony OS takes second with 24% (up from 19%). iOS ranks third in China with 18% (up from 17%).

India shows the largest gap between Android and iOS. Android dominates with a 91% share (up from 90%), while Apple holds just 9% (down from 10%). CR reports global smartphone shipments declined 11% in Q2 compared to the same period last year, with the steepest drops in entry-level and mid-tier segments across emerging markets. The data reflects Q2 2025 shipment figures, not active device usage.
