Withings has launched the Body Scan 2, its updated ultra-premium scale, in the US after securing regulatory approvals. Priced at $600, the device promises clinical-grade scans comparable to a DEXA scan, which the company argues makes it relatively affordable.

The scale analyzes 60 biomarkers, up from 40 on the original model. New capabilities include Impedance Cardiography (ICG) to monitor the heart's blood-pumping capacity and Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) to assess total body water, cellular age, active cell mass, and metabolic efficiency.

Body Scan 2 is available to order today from Withings' website, bundled with a free one-month trial of Withings+, the company's premium health-monitoring service.
