A new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie confirms the arrival of two beloved characters: Yoshi and Birdo. The footage, shown during Nintendo's dedicated Direct event, marks the first official on-screen debut for Yoshi, whose appearance was previously leaked via a Pillsbury cookie box design. Birdo's inclusion rounds out the expanding roster for the upcoming film.

Nintendo's presentation also delivered a key scheduling update. The movie, now confirmed to be in post-production, will hit theaters on April 1. This moves the release date forward by two days from the previously announced April 3 slot, positioning the film for a prime early April opening weekend against family audience competition.

The sequel builds on the massive success of the 2023 animated feature. Returning voice talent includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Charlie Day as Luigi. Jack Black reprises his role as Bowser, with Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), Benny Safdie (Bowser Jr.), Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek), and Brie Larson (Rosalina) also confirmed.
