Sonos has released a new update for its mobile app, introducing several quality-of-life improvements. Key among these are optional tabbed navigation, allowing users to access system, search, and home screens with a single tap. The system tab now features enhanced speaker sorting capabilities, enabling users to arrange their devices alphabetically, by frequency of use, or by those currently playing audio. Users can also pin specific speakers or rooms to the top of the list for quicker access, a feature particularly beneficial for those with numerous Sonos devices.

Other additions include a redesigned volume interface with a dynamic slider on iOS, and Now Playing screen backgrounds that dynamically reflect album art. Users can also now swipe to delete items from their favorites. The update also includes general bug fixes and performance enhancements. Sonos is rolling out these updates over the next few weeks, so not all users will see them immediately. This follows a major app overhaul two years ago that was met with significant criticism, but the app is reportedly in a much better state now.
