Qualcomm announced a double‑digit price hike for its Snapdragon processors, effective on units shipped after September 1. The move will affect most flagship Android devices that rely on Qualcomm silicon.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8 and Flip 8, Microsoft Co‑Pilot+ PCs, and Meta’s Ray‑Ban smart glasses all use Qualcomm chips, so the hike could push device prices higher across several categories.

The company said it can no longer absorb rising component costs, citing shortages in memory and semiconductor supply. With most chips built by TSMC, supply constraints from AI data‑center demand have tightened the market. Qualcomm has already mailed notices to its customers.

Despite sales slipping this year, Qualcomm posted a revenue that beat forecasts for the second quarter of 2026, indicating that the price jump may offset the cost pressure in the near term.
