Pokémon Unite, a five-on-five battle arena game, will shut down on March 23, 2027. The game launched in July 2021 on Nintendo Switch and later on mobile, supporting cross-platform play. Players choose Pokémon that evolve and learn abilities during matches.
The Pokémon Company announced the shutdown following its exclusion from the 2027 World Championships. Built by Tencent's Ti Mi Studios, the free-to-play title relied on battle passes, cosmetics, and gem sales. Gem sales and new memberships ended immediately, though purchased gems remain usable until shutdown.
A final update on November 12 will add a farewell event and a Library feature for viewing in-game items post-shutdown. However, Library data is device-bound and cannot be transferred.
