Nothing has launched the Ear (3a) wireless earbuds, priced at $99, aiming to blend affordability with advanced features. A standout function is Audio Snapshot, which uses the earbuds' 32MB of built-in storage to record short audio clips – ideal for capturing lecture snippets or voice notes. Users pinch both earbuds to initiate recording, capturing audio just before and after the press, with clips automatically syncing to the Nothing X app for editing and sharing.

The Ear (3a) also feature a 12mm dynamic driver for improved bass and detail, supporting LDAC streaming and offering an 8-band EQ within the app. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) reaches 45dB, with Nothing claiming a 17.1 percent improvement over previous models due to algorithm and acoustic mesh enhancements. The earbuds support spatial audio and arrive in new pink and yellow color options alongside black and white, with an additional XS ear tip size for better fit.

Battery life is rated at up to 42 hours total with the charging case, or 10 hours on the buds alone without ANC. With ANC enabled, total listening time drops to 25 hours. The inclusion of the Audio Snapshot feature, alongside robust ANC and improved audio drivers at this price point, positions the Ear (3a) as a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers seeking more than basic functionality.
