Lenovo's Modular AI PC Concept Redefines Laptop Flexibility

At MWC, Lenovo unveiled its Modular AI PC concept, a dual-screen laptop that challenges traditional form factors with hot-swappable components and a detachable keyboard. Unlike Framework's focus on system upgrades, Lenovo's design emphasizes adaptability, allowing users to reposition the secondary display and keyboard on the fly without rebooting.

Built around a 14-inch chassis, the concept features a secondary screen that can mount to the lid for face-to-face sharing or detach for traditional dual-monitor setups. The display supports both vertical and landscape orientations, catering to tasks like coding or document editing. The keyboard connects via pogo pins or Bluetooth, offering placement flexibility anywhere within range.

While Lenovo isn't bringing this concept to market, the polished build quality and seamless component swapping impressed reviewers. The hot-swappable ports—including USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI—mirror Framework's modularity approach. Despite the "AI PC" branding, the system operates without machine learning assistance, raising questions about the artificial intelligence integration that remains unclear.
