Ursula K. Le Guin’s long‑running blog, launched in 2010 when she was 81, is getting a new life as a podcast called In Your Spare Time. The series will re‑release every post, from essays to poems, and even the cat‑picture‑heavy entries that fans still love. The first episode drops on April 8.

Le Guin’s blog ran until 2017, and a 2017 book collected a selection of those posts. The podcast will include the full archive, offering listeners a chance to hear the author’s voice in its original form. Even the lighter, cat‑centric posts will be preserved for posterity.

Episodes will release every Wednesday for the next two years, each featuring a different reader who adds personal reflections. The first episode, titled “A Note at the Beginning,” will be read by David Mitchell and will premiere on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms. Listeners can also access a trailer on the estate’s Instagram.

The project, managed by Le Guin’s estate, reflects a growing trend of turning literary blogs into audio experiences.
