How to Clear Cache on iPhone: Step-by-Step Guide

Your iPhone's cache is a collection of data stored to speed up operations instead of loading information fresh every time. Clearing cache can help when apps start acting up, but you don't need to do it constantly since cache rebuilds quickly. Even with the new base of 256GB, clearing cache is a very short-term solution for low storage.

To clear cache in Safari, tap the three-dot button next to the address bar, choose Bookmarks (book icon), tap the clock icon, hit the three-dot button again, and select Clear. For Chrome, tap the three-dot button, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data, then choose Cached images and files only.

For system cache, restart your iPhone by holding the Side and either Volume button, then use the Power Off slider. Wait a minute, then hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo. Some apps like Spotify and Telegram offer direct cache clearing options. In Spotify, tap your profile icon, Settings and privacy > Data-saving and offline, then hit Clear next to Clear cache. In Telegram, go to Settings > Data and Storage > Storage Usage for detailed controls. For apps without such options, offload the app via Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

Treat clearing cache as a solution when problems arise, not regular maintenance. Restart your phone every so often and erase cache when it gets too large or apps misbehave. Downloads often take up much more space than cache, so check those first.
