Google is expanding its Gemini in Chrome rollout beyond the United States to users in Canada, India and New Zealand. The AI-powered features, which debuted earlier this year with Nano Banana image generation, are now available in these three countries with support for 50 additional languages. Users can access the Gemini chatbot through a sparkle icon in Chrome's interface.

To try out the new features, Chrome users can tap the sparkle icon at the top right of their browser window. This opens a sidebar interface where they can chat with Google's Gemini chatbot without switching tabs. The sidebar also provides access to Google's in-house image generator and integrates with popular Google apps including Gmail, Maps, Calendar and YouTube.

For users outside the initial rollout countries, Google plans to expand Gemini in Chrome availability to more regions throughout 2026. Those who prefer not to use the feature can right-click the sparkle icon and select "unpin" to remove it from their interface. The expansion represents Google's continued push to integrate AI capabilities directly into its browser, making advanced features more accessible to users worldwide.
