Amazon has launched the latest version of its Fire TV Stick HD, priced at $35 and featuring a slimmer design that's about 30 percent narrower than its predecessor. The new dongle comes with Alexa+ built-in and the redesigned interface previewed at CES in January, offering faster performance and modern features for older TVs.

The most notable change is the elimination of the power adapter, as the device now draws power directly through a TV's USB port using a short USB-C cable. While users can still use a traditional wall adapter if needed, Amazon designed this entry-level streaming stick to be more compact and easier to fit behind TVs without extra cables cluttering the space.

Beyond its slim profile, the Fire TV Stick HD supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 and promises to be more than 30 percent faster than the previous model. The device will ship on April 29 to multiple regions including the US, UK, Canada, and Japan, with an upcoming Adaptive Display setting planned to improve accessibility by enlarging text and menus while proportionally scaling content artwork.
