visionOS 27 Adds Siri AI to Spatial Computing

Even as Apple temporarily downsizes its Apple Vision Pro hardware team, visionOS 27 shows development hasn't slowed. Apple focused the OS 27 cycle on stability, optimization, and liquid glass refinements, but visionOS didn't need those as badly as other platforms. So visionOS 27 is one of the more feature-filled updates compared to other OS 27 releases, with improvements in customization, productivity, and UI paradigms.

The main advertising point across all of OS 27 is Siri AI, powered by revamped Apple Foundation Models. In visionOS 27, Siri appears as a 3D sphere you can attach to your desk. A new Visual Intelligence tool lets users ask questions about what's in view. Users can also use panoramic photos as spatial environments converted to 3D. Apple added a new Thorsmork environment with Icelandic auroras. Safari has a new tab view arranging tabs horizontally as a carousel.

Other improvements include a curved window mode, Virtual Mac Display widget, Quick Look for 3D models, and a Control Center redesign. Wi-Fi connects faster during startup, Messages sync faster, and notifications open with a glance. To install, go to Settings, General, Software Update, and select "Upgrade to visionOS 27."
