Top Apple-Related Books in AppleInsider Studio

I’m redesigning the AppleInsider video studio, so it’s the perfect time to answer a question I get a lot: which Apple‑related books sit on my shelves, and what I still wish I’d bought.

I’ve got a tech‑forward eBook library, including Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs. It’s a solid read, though staff opinions vary.

My physical stack is a mix of classics and niche titles. The iOS App Icon Book and its sequel, the macOS App Icon Book, were written by Michael Flarup and showcase over a thousand icons from early iPhones to modern Macs. The books are more than picture books; they contain stories, artist spotlights, and design best‑practice insights. Each is priced at $82 on the author’s site after a successful Kickstarter.

Other favorites include *Little Steve* by Zoli Honig, *Build* by Tony Fadell (iPod and Nest co‑creator), the hefty dbrand Manifesto, and *After Steve* by Tripp Mickle. I’m still missing Apple’s limited‑edition “Designed by Apple” coffee‑table book, a pricey but beautiful visual history of the company’s design evolution.
