OWC's $130 USB4 Hub announced Wednesday transforms a single MacBook USB-C port into multiple connectivity options. The device adds USB4, USB-C, and HDMI 2.1 ports while delivering 81W of pass-through charging. Users can connect external storage, accessories, and compatible displays simultaneously through a single host connection supporting 40Gbps total bandwidth.

The hub features two USB4 ports for high-bandwidth peripherals and two additional USB-C ports with 10Gbps speeds. A built-in HDMI 2.1 port supports 4K displays at 120Hz or 240Hz using DSC, plus 8K at 60Hz. Compatible with Thunderbolt 5, 4, 3, USB4, and USB-C, the fanless aluminum enclosure works with supported Macs, Windows, Linux, and iPad Pro models. OWC includes a dedicated power supply delivering up to 81W to the host computer.

The USB4 Hub releases in late October for $129.99. OWC also announced new 3-meter and 5-meter USB4 40Gbps Active Optical Cables priced at $98.99 and $129.99, respectively. Both cables support Thunderbolt connectivity over longer distances and feature fiber optics in braided nylon exteriors resistant to EMI and RFI interference.
