iPhone Fold Renamed iPhone Ultra, Rumors Suggest

A new rumor claims Apple's long-awaited foldable phone will be called the iPhone Ultra instead of iPhone Fold. The leaker, known as WayLabs on Weibo, suggests the device will launch alongside other Ultra-branded products as part of Apple's push into higher-priced tiers. This follows earlier speculation about Apple expanding its premium product lineup.

According to the source, the iPhone Ultra would start at over 10,000 yuan (around $1,500) and top models could exceed 20,000 yuan (approximately $3,000). These price points would make it the most expensive iPhone ever sold. The leaker also claims Apple plans AirPods Ultra with infrared cameras and a MacBook Ultra featuring a touchscreen OLED display.

The rumor comes from a relatively new source with limited track record, having only previously claimed camera improvements for the iPhone 18 Pro. While the Ultra branding aligns with Apple's apparent strategy to introduce higher-specification products, the lack of sourcing makes verification difficult. The name change from iPhone Fold to iPhone Ultra would follow Apple's pattern of rebranding products, similar to how the iPhone 17e replaced the expected iPhone 17 Slim.
