Apple unveiled iOS 27 at its WWDC keynote, bringing enhanced Liquid Glass UI and improved responsiveness to iPhones this fall. The update will expand control over the glass effect intensity and add more separation between glass layers. App icons gain additional refraction elements while swiping between Home Screen pages becomes significantly faster.

Parental controls see major improvements in iOS 27, with easier setup for child Apple Accounts and expanded website request options in Screen Time. Apple's AI push includes new Siri functionality using a large Dynamic Island interface, leveraging Google Gemini to train Foundation Models through both on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.

iOS 27 will be available on all models compatible with iOS 26, meaning all currently-supported iPhones can upgrade. Performance improvements include a 70% faster photo import experience and updates to the CPU scheduler for better resource management. Developers can access the new features starting soon after the keynote concludes, with public release expected in the fall.
