Photographs revealing the internal architecture of an Apple Silicon AI server have surfaced online, offering a rare glimpse into the hardware behind Apple’s Private Cloud Compute initiative. These images provide insight into how the tech giant has designed its secure AI cloud computing infrastructure.

The photos, posted by user @hsuchingpo to X on August 24, depict what is identified as an "Apple M5 Server." When questioned about its relation to Private Cloud Compute, the account confirmed it was "Most likely" the case. Based on existing reporting, this is confirmed as an Apple-produced server unit shipped from their facility in Houston, Texas.

The device features a custom 2U rack-mountable chassis containing four columns of hardware. Each column holds eight processing boards, totaling 32 processors per server. The layout places main chips centrally with heatsinks in the middle, while side brackets allow for quick board replacement. An Apple logo is visible on one chip, suggesting the use of high-performance components similar to M5 Ultra equivalents.

Cooling is managed via single fans at the end of each column, drawing air efficiently from front to back. Notably, the server requires external management, with the poster stating that a Mac Studio is used for software control, highlighting the unique operational setup of these advanced AI units.
