Apple TV achieved a historic milestone at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, securing the most awards of any network and becoming the most awarded streamer in history. The platform accumulated 29 wins, building on its initial 20 technical awards from the first nights of the ceremony. This marks the second consecutive year Apple TV has led all networks in total Emmy wins.

The freshman comedy series "Widow's Bay" was the primary driver of these victories, setting multiple records including most wins for a debut comedy and most performance wins for any series in 2026. The show also earned Hiro Murai the first-ever comedy directing win for an Asian director. Apple TV reached this milestone in just seven years since its 2019 launch, making it the fastest streamer to achieve such recognition.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV's head of programming, expressed gratitude to the Television Academy and highlighted the exceptional storytelling of "Widow's Bay," "Pluribus," and "Slow Horses." Notably, Matthew Rhys became the first actor in Emmy history to win lead acting awards for two different series in the same night, securing wins for both "Widow's Bay" and Netflix's "The Beast in Me.".
