Samsung announced that its Hearing Aid feature for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and 4 Pro has been FDA-cleared. The feature will allow the earbuds to serve as an over-the-counter hearing aid for adults 18 or older with mild to moderate hearing loss. It works alongside the Hearing Test, which uses clinical-grade, pure-tone audiometry to test hearing and generate an audiogram.

Users can self-administer the test from the Galaxy Buds settings, which categorizes results as mild, moderate, severe, or profound. The buds then fine-tune the Hearing Aid feature to boost frequencies like whispers or distant voices. The feature set includes noise elimination and beamforming.

The Hearing Test and Hearing Aid will arrive on the Buds 3 Pro and 4 Pro in Q4 2026 in the U.S. and other approved markets. Samsung also announced broader Hearing Health features using Galaxy Watch, phone, and Buds to monitor noise levels and encourage users to preserve their hearing long-term.
