Leaked animation hints Samsung tablet ditching notch

Sam Mobile analysts uncovered two One UI 9 test‑software animations that appear to depict a forthcoming Galaxy Tab redesign. Both clips show a tablet with a punch‑hole selfie camera instead of the familiar notch and considerably slimmer side bezels. The camera remains centered in landscape mode in one version, while the other shifts it to the left edge, mimicking modern phone layouts.

The leak arrives as Samsung prepares the rumored Tab S12 Ultra, which is expected to retain the S11 Ultra’s 11,600 mAh battery and roughly 15‑inch display. Critics have long complained that the S11 Ultra’s notch detracts from its otherwise immersive screen‑to‑body ratio. A punch‑hole solution would boost visual appeal without sacrificing the large display that differentiates Samsung’s premium tablets.

If Samsung adopts the new camera cutout, the next tablet could finally match the sleek aesthetic of its smartphones while preserving the productivity advantages of a large form factor. Designers and power users would benefit from a cleaner viewing experience, and the move might pressure rivals to revisit their own tablet notches. The animations remain unverified, but they suggest a clear design direction.
