Galaxy Z TriFold Gets 7 Years of Updates at $2899

Samsung's new Galaxy Z TriFold will receive seven years of OS and security updates, matching the mainline Galaxy S series. The $2,899 device features a unique trifold design with a standalone outer display and a massive 10-inch AMOLED folding screen when fully unfolded.

Launched in the U.S. with only a 512GB storage option, the phone is already sold out despite its premium pricing. The device packs flagship specs including the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 200MP main camera, and a 5,600mAh battery. For the first time in years, Samsung includes both a 45W charger and case in the box.

At 3.9mm unfolded and 12.9mm folded, the TriFold is slightly thinner than last year's Galaxy Z Fold 5. While some might have hoped for an eight-year update commitment, seven years remains competitive in the foldable segment. The device represents Samsung's continued innovation in the foldable market, following its pioneering work with the original Galaxy Fold.
