WhatsApp is testing a native CarPlay app that replaces the current voice-only integration with a full visual interface. The new beta, available through TestFlight, introduces a dedicated chat list screen showing recent conversations from the past 20-25 days, contact details, and call history without requiring Siri commands.

Currently, WhatsApp on CarPlay only launches Siri with basic messaging and calling options. The revamped experience includes a contact info interface displaying profile details, a call history tab showing incoming, outgoing, and missed calls, and a favorites section for quick access to important contacts. Users can browse recent chats and initiate new messages or calls directly from the dashboard.

The visual interface prioritizes safety by preventing users from opening full conversation histories while driving. Complete chat access remains available on smartphones when not behind the wheel. Meta has not announced a public release date for the feature, and the beta is limited to select TestFlight users testing the latest WhatsApp build.
