Snapchat has introduced a new feature called "Now Playing," integrating with Spotify to display users' real-time listening activity on Snap Map. This feature allows friends to see what music is currently being played by their connections.

Snap Map, which reaches over 450 million users monthly, will now show Spotify tracks alongside user locations. Tapping on a song provides options to open it in Spotify, save it to Liked Songs, or discover related Spotlight videos. Users can also save songs directly to Spotify from Spotlight and Sound Pages.

Music sharing is opt-in, with four privacy settings available: Friends, Friends on the Map, Select Friends, and No One. The feature is available where both Snapchat and Spotify operate, with Canada launching soon. This follows Snapchat's 2020 introduction of Sounds and Spotify's own social listening features, alongside similar integrations by Instagram.
