Pluribus became an instant hit when it premiered on Apple TV last year. Creator Vince Gilligan just shared an exciting update on Pluribus season 2 progress, and when it might return. Season 2 is about to start filming, making a late 2027 premiere likely.

Gilligan appeared on Deadline's Crew Call podcast this week alongside composer Dave Porter. He said, 'We just finished breaking it, and we’re going to start shooting it in a month—in a couple of months.' Production kicking off so soon is an encouraging sign.

When asked if the season 2 premiere is still targeting late 2027, Gilligan joked it will be 'sometime in the 21st century.' Late 2027 makes sense given the expected six-month filming timeline, with a possible November target to match the first season's release window.

Gilligan also shared he plans for Pluribus to last at least three seasons, maybe four. He admitted his Breaking Bad plan also started with a few seasons, so anything could happen with Pluribus.
