OpenAI today announced the Admin plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex, a new tool that lets workspace admins update settings, ask questions, and generate reports based on workspace usage and activity data directly from a conversation. With the Admin plugin, admins can complete day-to-day tasks including understanding adoption and usage, reviewing activity and credit usage across ChatGPT Work and Codex, and identifying where additional enablement may help. Admins can also manage members and groups by adding or removing members, updating groups, and completing routine onboarding, offboarding, and team changes. The plugin allows managing access and permissions, reviewing effective permissions, diagnosing access issues, and controlling feature or model access by role or group. Additionally, admins can manage usage limits and spending requests, adjusting limits for members, groups, and workspaces while reviewing requests against current usage.

In a demo, Aarti Bagul, a Member of the GTM Staff at OpenAI, showed a use case preparing for a monthly AI rollout review. She asked ChatGPT Work how adoption and credit usage changed across teams over the past 30 days, requested charts highlighting the biggest changes, analyzed trends, approved usage requests, and had ChatGPT create a presentation deck shared to a Slack channel. The Admin plugin is now available from the Plugins directory in ChatGPT Work.
