A new Apple TV 4K will be unveiled as part of Apple's 'Welcome home' event on Tuesday, October 13. It is the first update to the device since 2022, and several upgrades are reportedly coming with it.
The most significant change is the A19 chip, which would replace the current A15 Bionic and should make the Apple TV 4K run noticeably smoother. The new hardware will also add support for Siri AI, which appears to be a central focus of the update.
Siri is expected to become easier to use. A built-in microphone in the Apple TV 4K box would let users interact with Siri entirely by voice, without pressing a button on the Siri Remote. Users may even be able to ask Siri to locate a misplaced remote, which would then play a sound to help find it. The Siri Remote is also rumored to get a built-in speaker.
The N1 wireless chip is expected to improve reliability for features such as AirDrop and could support other Apple Home improvements. Apple could also surprise users with features that have not yet been rumored, and coverage of the announcements will follow throughout the week.
