Apple today updated its vintage and obsolete product lists, with the iPhone X and 15-inch 2018 MacBook Pro now classified as obsolete. The company moved these devices from the vintage to the obsolete list, meaning Apple discontinues all hardware service for them and service providers can no longer order parts.

Products may become obsolete more than 7 years after Apple stops distributing them for sale, though the timing is up to Apple. The vintage list includes products discontinued 5 to 7 years ago, which Apple services only while parts remain available.

The iPhone X dropped major OS support with iOS 17, leaving iOS 16 as its final major release (currently iOS 16.7.16). The 15-inch 2018 MacBook Pro is limited to macOS Sequoia, with macOS 15.7.7 available.
