iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Leak Shows 10% Jump Over Pro Model

A Chinese regulatory database leak suggests Apple plans to widen the battery gap between its iPhone 18 Pro Max and the smaller iPhone 18 Pro more aggressively than in previous years. Posted by Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the filing lists the Pro Max at 5567mAh (eSIM) and 5391mAh (physical SIM), up roughly 10% increase from the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 5088mAh and 4823mAh. Meanwhile, the standard Pro model shows only marginal gains: 4288mAh versus 4252mAh on the current generation.

The leaker himself flagged the figures as needing "further verification" given the size of the jump. If accurate, the data signals a deliberate strategy to make the larger Pro Max a significantly longer-lasting device, rather than simply scaling battery capacity with screen size. Apple has historically reserved exclusive camera features for the Max model; a pronounced battery advantage would give buyers a second concrete reason to choose the 6.9-inch variant.

For consumers, the leak reinforces the expectation that the Pro Max will remain the endurance king of the lineup, potentially delivering multi-day battery life under moderate use. The smaller Pro, by contrast, appears positioned as a compact flagship with only incremental capacity improvements.
