Apple has confirmed that users will face a waitlist to access new Siri AI features when iOS 27 and macOS 27 launch next month. This restriction applies to all users, not just beta testers, meaning immediate access to the updated assistant will not be available upon updating devices.

The waitlist system, initially introduced in developer betas, was implemented to help Apple assess server capacity requirements for AI tasks. Reported wait times during the beta period ranged from one to two weeks. During this period, the Siri setting simply displayed "Joined Waitlist."

For the official release, Apple has integrated new infrastructure designed to provide estimated wait times. These timings will be dynamically adjusted by Apple's servers based on real-time demand and capacity balances. Users will receive a push notification once their access is granted and the new Siri AI features become active.
