Fantastical Adds Alarms to Events and Tasks

Flexibits has updated Fantastical for iOS with support for AlarmKit, Apple's new developer framework introduced in iOS 26. The calendar app can now trigger persistent alarms for events and tasks, making them harder to miss than standard notifications.

This update brings Fantastical in line with Apple's own Reminders app, which adopted AlarmKit in iOS 26.2 last fall. The new alarm functionality addresses a common user complaint about calendar alerts being too easy to dismiss or overlook. Beyond alarms, the update includes several enhancements: a redesigned month view that better separates months and highlights the selected one, improved support for recurring events that mix timed and all-day entries, and integration with Google Tasks assigned from Google Docs.

The Mac version also gains a new menu bar customization option to hide and unhide events via Edit > Hide. The update further includes configurable Apple Watch complications for users who prefer glancing at their schedule from their wrist. Flexibits continues to differentiate Fantastical from Apple's native apps by adding these productivity-focused features that leverage the latest iOS capabilities.
