Apple today published a fun commercial promoting the new Mac mini with M6 chip. The company has now shared a short behind-the-scenes video showing some of the extensive work that went into producing the ad.

Apple’s @helloapple Instagram account published a short Instagram reel, where it shows some of the process that went into creating its fun ad for the new Mac mini with M6. In the video, animators Justin Rasch and Scott Da Ros, alongside art director Josh Mahan, showcase the sketches, props, sculptures, techniques, and materials used throughout the production, as well as stop-motion time-lapses and behind-the-scenes footage revealing how several of the ad’s animations came together.

While the ad isn’t quite as wonderfully unhinged as the Mac Book Neo’s Tik Tok campaign has been since Apple launched its entry-level notebook, it’s still a lot of fun, and even more so once you see how much practical work went into making it.
