The bug affects all discovery modes including Known Host, mDNS, and DNS discovery, forcing macOS to ignore keychain-stored credentials. For large organizations and schools, this translates into flooding help desks with tickets for an issue IT teams cannot immediately resolve. Paper Cut has an open support request with Apple regarding the authentication failures.

Users with Mobility Print queues deployed through Print Deploy remain unaffected, and a workaround exists for organizations struggling with the authentication prompts.
