Apple is automatically updating some Apple Watch apps for watchOS 27 compatibility on the beta. Some existing apps do not launch on watchOS 27, so Apple is updating them on the developer’s behalf through the App Store. The What’s New note reads: 'This app has been updated by Apple to prepare for watch OS 27 compatibility. No new features are included'.

Apple informed developers that this process will be complete by August 31. Since watchOS 27 and other new operating systems will likely launch publicly around mid-September, the necessary updates are being pushed out in good time.

Apple is doing this due to an issue with the arm64 slice of some watchOS apps. They are automatically reprocessing and repackaging apps to fix the binary incompatibility, allowing existing apps to continue working without developer action.
