Shares of TDK Corp. jumped 11% after the Japanese electronics components maker announced an increased full-year operating profit forecast. The positive revision, driven by robust demand and a weaker yen, sent the stock price soaring. This positive outlook signals strong performance in the face of broader economic uncertainties.

TDK, a major supplier to Apple Inc., saw its stock experience its biggest intraday jump since April of last year. The company boosted its operating income outlook for the fiscal year ending in March by 8% to ¥265 billion ($1.7 billion). They also raised net income and sales forecasts, alongside a dividend increase to ¥34 per share.

The company cited strong sales of batteries and sensors, fueled by new smartphone launches, and sustained demand for hard disk drives used in data centers. While concerns about rising memory prices exist, executives believe the impact will be limited. Citi analyst Takayuki Naito views this as encouraging, despite some device volume concerns.
