Flare launches FXRP lending via Morpho DeFi upgrade

Flare announced a major DeFi upgrade that links its blockchain to Morpho, a cross‑chain lending protocol. The integration unlocks FXRP, an XRP‑derived token, for both lending and borrowing on Flare. By offering on‑chain yield opportunities, Flare aims to broaden utility for XRP holders beyond simple storage or spot trading.

FXRP can be deposited to earn interest or posted as collateral to borrow assets such as stablecoins. The new markets operate through Mystic, a front‑end that displays vaults and handles deposits. Independent curators like Clearstar supply vaults backed by FXRP, FLR, and USDT, expanding the range of on‑chain products.

Investors now have a direct path to generate yield on XRP exposure, a segment that previously lagged behind Ethereum‑based tokens in DeFi. Liquidity growth could attract more capital to Flare’s ecosystem and pressure rival chains to roll out similar services. Watch for vault utilization rates and any regulatory guidance on cross‑chain lending.
