Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein has assembled a new legal team featuring attorneys who represented Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Luigi Mangione as he prepares for his third New York rape trial. The lawyers, Jacob Kaplan, Marc Agnifilo, and Teny Geragos, confirmed the move in court papers Tuesday, taking over from longtime attorney Arthur Aidala.

Weinstein faces a single unresolved charge of raping hairstylist Jessica Mann in a Manhattan hotel in 2013. The trial, originally scheduled for March 3, has been postponed without a new date. Kaplan, who was part of Weinstein's original 2018 defense team, is expected to play a leading role. The Oscar-winning producer, serving time in a separate California case, has been behind bars since his 2020 conviction.

Agnifilo and Geragos successfully defended Combs against sex trafficking and racketeering charges, while Kaplan and Agnifilo are currently representing Mangione in his federal and state cases related to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The high-profile legal team brings extensive experience in complex criminal cases to Weinstein's defense as he maintains his innocence and prepares for what could be a five-week trial.
