President Donald Trump refused to take questions from CNN reporter Kristen Holmes during a press conference following the Supreme Court's rejection of his administration's sweeping tariffs. Trump criticized Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Chief Justice John Roberts as "fools and lapdogs" for declaring his tariffs illegal under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Earlier that day, Holmes reported that Trump became "enraged" upon learning about the Supreme Court decision during his annual White House breakfast with governors, allegedly using expletives to describe the ruling. Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich disputed Holmes's account, stating that according to a source outside the administration, Trump simply called the ruling a disgrace and continued with his remarks.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung retweeted Heinrich's account, writing "CNN is fake news." The conflicting reports highlight the ongoing tension between the administration and certain media outlets, particularly following the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Trump's tariff policy that he had previously touted as an economic "liberation" for the American economy.
