The Trump Organization has filed trademark applications for exclusive rights to use President Trump's name on airports and related merchandise, including buses, umbrellas, and flight suits. The filings come as Florida considers renaming Palm Beach International Airport after the president, located near his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Despite the trademark applications, the company stated it doesn't plan to charge fees for the proposed airport renaming, claiming it seeks only protection against "bad actors" who might misuse the Trump name. Trademark lawyer Josh Gerben called the filings unprecedented, noting no sitting president's private company has ever sought such rights before an official naming.

The applications, filed by DTTM Operations with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, cover three variations of the name including "President Donald J. Trump International Airport." The Trump family has expanded its branding efforts across international real estate developments while maintaining the business is held in trust by the president's sons.
