Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the FSB security service to enhance protection of Russia's energy and transport infrastructure during a meeting marking the fourth anniversary of the war with Ukraine. Speaking to FSB officials, Putin accused Western intelligence of supporting Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil depots, refineries, and ports.

Putin warned that Russia's enemies seeking to inflict a strategic defeat would eventually regret pushing Moscow too far. The Russian leader suggested that energy pipelines under the Black Sea could become targets and issued orders to strengthen anti-terrorist protection of critical facilities. He cited ongoing Ukrainian attacks on cities, infrastructure sabotage, and assassination attempts on government and military officials.

Moscow has blamed Ukraine for a series of assassinations targeting senior military figures throughout the conflict. The heightened security measures come as Russia faces sustained attacks on its energy infrastructure, with Putin emphasizing the need to provide maximum coverage for critical facilities and equip them with additional security measures if necessary.
