Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Moscow, condemning new U.S. restrictions on Cuba as "unacceptable" during their Kremlin talks. The meeting highlighted strengthening ties between Moscow and Havana amid escalating tensions with Washington over sanctions.

Putin told Rodriguez that Russia does not accept the latest measures targeting the communist-run island, according to TASS news agency. A senior Russian diplomat had announced Moscow's intention to provide material aid to help Cuba navigate U.S. attempts to cut off its oil supply. The discussions come as Washington intensifies pressure on both nations through economic restrictions.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov separately urged the U.S. to avoid imposing a full naval blockade on Cuba, advocating for negotiations instead. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated Moscow had not discussed the Cuba issue with Washington. The diplomatic exchanges occurred as Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. concluded peace talks in Geneva earlier Wednesday, underscoring Moscow's broader geopolitical maneuvering.
