King Charles' brother Prince Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office after allegedly sending confidential government documents to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his 60s, widely identified as the former royal, who served as a trade envoy when the alleged document transfer occurred.

Police searched properties in Berkshire and Norfolk, including Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate where Andrew now resides. The investigation follows the release of over 3 million pages of Epstein-related documents suggesting Andrew forwarded reports about Vietnam and Singapore from official trips to Epstein in 2010. The anti-monarchy group Republic reported Andrew to police after reviewing these files.

The misconduct charge carries a maximum life sentence and must be heard in Crown Court. This marks a dramatic escalation in the legal troubles for Andrew, who previously settled a civil lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre in 2022 and was stripped of royal titles in 2022. Buckingham Palace has stated it will support any police investigation while declining to comment on the arrest.
