A former church in Peoria's North Valley will host movie filming Thursday afternoon, with local residents warned about the use of prop firearms. Solutions Film LLC plans to shoot scenes for their movie "Solutions" at the vacant property on Northeast Madison Avenue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The site, built in 1897, has a complex history. Once home to Tabernacle of Praise Fellowship Church and St. Andrew the Apostle Episcopal Church, the property was sold by the Quincy Diocese of the Episcopal Church to William Buckner in 2022 for just $10. The building is currently listed for $289,000 on the real estate market.

Despite the filming activity, the city assures residents that normal access to driveways, loading zones, fire hydrants, bus stops, handicap ramps and parking will remain available. The production crew's use of prop weapons has prompted the city to notify neighbors in advance. This filming represents a new chapter for the historic structure, which has stood vacant since its religious congregation relocated.
