Two snowmobile accidents in northern New Hampshire injured Massachusetts riders over the weekend, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. In Gorham, Heather Charpentier, 50, of Wareham, lost control on a steep trail Friday afternoon, falling 50 feet down an embankment before colliding with a tree.

Charpentier suffered multiple injuries but received immediate medical aid from her riding companion and first responders. She was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for evaluation. The department cited inexperience as the likely cause and reminded operators to exercise caution on trails.

A second crash occurred Saturday in Dixville when Gregory Parcell of Lynn failed to navigate an uphill corner, colliding head-on with Kelsey Niziak of Danville, New Hampshire. Niziak declined ambulance transport but sought additional care for a hand injury. Both snowmobiles sustained significant damage in the incident.
