A new poll from the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard, the Harris Poll, and HarrisX shows Republicans and Democrats tied at 50% each in hypothetical midterm matchups. The survey of 1,999 registered voters found the GOP has erased a recent 8-point deficit, improving from 46% to 50% in just one month.

The survey tested campaign messages from both parties. A Republican message focusing on border security, lower taxes, and energy costs resonated with 54% of respondents. Meanwhile, a Democratic message emphasizing free government services and affordability found 48% credibility. Notably, 61% of Americans said they would be receptive to an anti-Trump message from Democrats framing him as a "runaway dictator."

President Trump's net approval rating improved from -6 to -3 in the latest poll. The survey's findings suggest heightened political volatility with eight months until the midterms, as both parties compete for voter support in what appears to be a highly competitive election cycle.
