A 23-year-old medical student from Liverpool endured stroke-like symptoms for years before doctors finally discovered an aggressive brain tumor. Alex Warwick visited approximately 50 doctors over seven years, with each appointment ending in dismissal of his concerns as stress or health anxiety. His symptoms included facial drooping, hand weakness, and episodes of confusion that would last minutes before passing.

Warwick's condition deteriorated dramatically in May 2025 when he experienced severe symptoms during dinner with friends. Emergency room doctors discovered a 5 cm tumor and immediately performed surgery, revealing glioblastoma - an aggressive, incurable cancer with a typical prognosis of 12-18 months. The delay in diagnosis meant Warwick had likely carried the tumor for nearly a decade, during which time earlier intervention might have improved his outcome.

Following initial treatment including chemotherapy and radiation, Warwick's cancer spread and developed leptomeningeal disease by December 2025. He now travels to Germany for experimental immunotherapy while surrounded by family support. Warwick emphasizes the importance of taking young patients seriously when they present with recurring symptoms, hoping his experience will prevent similar diagnostic delays for others facing rare conditions.
